Desert Stars was inspired by the striking beauty of the Atacama Desert landscapes, which is widely known as one of the best places to gaze at the night sky due to the absence of light. with this in mind, I wanted to challenge myself into creating an environment on where the focus would be to represent the beauty of the night alongside the striking desert landscape. the scene also features two volcanoes in the background, as this region is also known for having such features. technically speaking, the most complicated part was getting the stars to look convincing, as I decided to not utilize a sky texture but to actually attempt to create my own custom skybox.
